California Republican Party Soft on Social Issues?

by Ron Prentice,
Chief Executive Officer

The California Republican Party (CRP) is encountering internal
pressure to soften its stance on social issues such as preborn human life and man-woman marriage. The CRP’s committee to draft its moral and political platform has several homosexual members, so we should not be surprised, as pressure by homosexuals is increasing in every sphere of life.

During the Perry v. Schwarzenegger trial in the San Francisco federal district courtroom, the plaintiffs’ witnesses often referred to the powerlessness of the homosexual population. However, common sense, the media, and courtroom decisions say something altogether different!

Although the cross-examination of those witnesses by Prop 8 Legal Defense attorneys completely refuted the false claims of the homosexual agenda’s political impotence, in his ruling against Proposition 8, former Chief Judge Vaughn Walker disregarded any evidence or testimony that stood in the way of granting homosexual couples “marriage,” or classifying homosexuals as a specially protected population.

In spite of the legal case now being called Perry versus Brown - to align with California’s new/old governor - Governor Jerry Brown is anything but an opponent of same-sex marriage. In fact, you will not find ONE elected state official who would fight to defend the state’s constitutional definition of man-woman marriage.

Step-by-step, a cunning and calculated plan has been implemented by pro-homosexual supporters, attempting to positively redefine the behavior and legally silence all its detractors.

  • In the early 1970s, homosexual persons successfully campaigned for placement on committees within the American Psychiatric Association (APA), and although no solid research supported these committees’ findings, the APA’s classification of homosexuality has incrementally evolved from mental illness to normative behavior. (See Paul E. Rondeau, Selling homosexuality to America)

For many of us, the consequences of the political power of homosexuals hits very close to home:
  • California Family Council was dismissed as a client of a specialty firm in non-profit organization accounting, mandated by one of the firm’s partners - a homosexual.
  • Two years of preliminary work by a national coalition of family policy councils was wasted, when a major vendor broke its contract with us due to objections by its homosexual employees.
  • Several attorneys that were interested in defending Proposition 8 could not, due to pressure from other attorneys within their law firms.

It could be argued that such discrimination should be acceptable. But that argument will only stand if those who disagree with homosexuality or same-sex “marriage” could also object to that lifestyle. However, a Christian wedding photographer in New Mexico lost her first battle in court when she refused to photograph a same-sex couple’s ceremonial union, and employers and religious organizations across the country are losing their rights of conscience and religious freedom.

Be on guard; stand for truth that is tested over time. No longer does time allow for those who know the truth to stand silently by. Every sphere of life needs the light of truth in order to expose the darkness.

“...and after you have done everything, stand.” Ephesians 6:13
