Governor Brown Signs LGBT History Bill

Today, Governor Jerry Brown signed SB 48 (Leno, D-San Francisco), giving California the dubious honor of once again leading the nation – this time as the first state to require that one’s sexual orientation be considered for inclusion in history books. Thousands of Californians – and citizens nationwide – contacted the governor, asking him not to place decisions regarding age-appropriateness of content outside the awareness of parents, and not to open impressionable, young children to lessons crafted only to advance a pro-homosexual worldview.

But our voices were unheard, as Gov. Brown ignored parents and instead aligned himself with a “politically correct” segment of society. “History should be honest,” wrote the governor in signing SB 48, yet is it honest to delve into the background of those who have shaped our history, and single out those with a pro-homosexual worldview?

Samuel Adams, known as the father of the American Revolution, wrote, “The diminution [lessening] of public virtue is usually attended with that of public happiness, and the public liberty will not long survive the total extinction of morals.” Our public morality and culture are fast declining. Pray that this will be the alarm and a turning point for California and the nation.
