INTENTIONAL VOTING

Years ago I sat in the audience while a friend of mine participated as a panelist on the stage at the front of the room. The subject was “Christians and the Privilege to Vote.” From the large audience came a question: “how can we get more people motivated to vote?” My panelist friend responded, “I don’t necessarily want more people to vote if they’re uninformed,” and many in the audience laughed.

But my friend wasn’t kidding. Voting responsibly takes some effort, and sometimes damage is done when citizens don’t take the time to investigate party platforms, voting records, or candidate statements. You need go no further than the California Legislature to see evidence of such damage.

Of course, there are some excellent representatives in our state Capitol. But there are others who believe that, having won their legislative seat, now the most important task before them is keeping it!

The November 2010 general election will be pivotal for our state and national direction, and people must respond with action to the threats against their freedoms and their families’ success. For this reason, California Family Council believes that we must provide individuals with a comprehensive guide to the candidates for office. We commit to do our very best in supplying you with information about as many candidates as possible.

To do so, we must have your help. This task will take countless hours of research, and a volunteer force of labor must be identified and trained. CFC must raise thousands of additional dollars to pay for temporary staff, printing and postage.

Work has already begun, as an early October release date is fast approaching! Our desire is to cooperate with legitimate regional efforts, and CFC will utilize the online help of Focus on the Family to broadcast a voter guide as far and wide as possible.

Please help California Family Council prepare millions of citizens with education on issues and candidates, so they may vote with intention and begin to return government to the people. To give a secure online gift now, click here.

The statistics have been shown time and again: if only 10% more people with a Judeo-Christian worldview would participate as informed voters, our legislatures and courts would look - and act - very differently today.
