RAMONA – The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of San Diego has threatened to sue school district officials on behalf of a 12-year-old student, whose free-speech rights were violated, according to the organization. District personnel told Natalie Jones that her oral presentation on gay-rights’ advocate Harvey Milk was a sensitive subject that needed parental permission before other students could hear it under the district’s life and sex-education policy. The ACLU is demanding that the district apologize to parents and students, allow Natalie to give her presentation uncensored, and clarify district policy. Read more on the San Diego Union-Tribune Web site.
