Tonight on NBC!
Last night while watching a television show with my family, I sprang for the controls to change the channel from overt sexual talk. But tonight we’ll all have a chance to view a pilot project produced by Wal-Mart and Procter & Gamble, without the need for “control patrol.”
Tonight at 8:00, Secrets of the Mountains airs on NBC affiliates. Starring first-rate actors, Secrets is the project of two of the world’s largest corporations to deliver family entertainment in the model of the Sunday night “Wonderful World of Disney” fare that aired a generation ago.
To their credit, the two companies report that they are finding less and less suitable programming in which to place their advertising, as broadcasting standards for viewing content continue to decline. Thus, Wal-Mart and Procter & Gamble have joined forces to produce entertainment that promotes family, honesty, and inspiration. Many people may record this made-for-TV movie for later viewing without the interruption of advertising commercials, but they may miss Wal-Mart’s and Procter & Gamble’s family-friendly promotion of their products and services.
After viewing Secrets of the Mountain, take time to write or call NBC, Wal-Mart and Procter & Gamble to thank them for airing or producing the movie! All three will need to know the movie’s impact in order to further their efforts for more “control-friendly” entertainment.
