ANAHEIM – The California Medical Board says an abortionist who killed a woman in a botched abortion last year must stop doing abortions. However, an administrative law judge stopped short of revoking his medical license while the hearing proceeds. Andrew Rutland is accused of “negligence, misconduct and incompetence in his treatment of 20 pregnant women, newborns and gynecological patients,” according to LifeNews.com.

 

SAN FRANCISCO – The Gay Straight Alliance (GSA) Network News (January 6, 2010) reports a new class for San Francisco high school students will begin the week of January 19. The class, in LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Questioning) Studies, will be held at an off-campus location and will be worth five credits.    

 

SAN DIEGO – In 2003, the American Historical Association reserved the Manchester Grand Hyatt on San Diego’s waterfront for its 2010 annual convention. The Manchester, whose owner gave money in support of the Yes on 8 Campaign, has been the subject of a pro-homosexual boycott since 2008, but, rather than pay stiff cancellation penalties, about 4,000 historians descended on the hotel last weekend, while pro-homosexual demonstrators chanted and banged drums. Read more in the San Diego Union-Tribune.
