A Special Thanksgiving Message from the California Family Council:
On Thanksgiving, the people of America celebrate the blessings bestowed upon us by our Creator, and give thanks for those in our history who sacrificed and labored to provide freedom and safety. We come together, and in doing so we experience that which we most value, family and friends.
The California Family Council gives thanks for your faithful prayers and generosity. Our staff and board of directors acknowledge God’s faithfulness in our work, through you, and we rejoice in gratitude.
Now therefore I do recommend and assign Thursday the 26th day of November next to be devoted by the People of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being, who is the beneficent Author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be . . . That we may then all unite in rendering unto him our sincere and humble thanks . . . for the peaceable and rational manner, in which we have been enabled to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national One now lately instituted -- for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed.

Proposition 8 Legal Defense Appeals to 9th Circuit
Attorneys defending Prop 8’s proponents in Perry v Schwarzenegger, the suit filed in U.S. District Court, have appealed an order by the district court’s Chief Judge Vaughan Walker to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeal. The defendant’s attorneys argue that disclosure of internal documents between proponents and vendors conflicts with First Amendment privacy rights. A 3-judge panel will hear the appeal on Tuesday, December 1, in the Richard H. Chambers courthouse in Pasadena. Read more
